“League of Legends is in Open Beta and lots of people are excited about it, especially because it was made by a lot of the folks behind the popular Warcraft add-on DOTA (Defense of the Ancients).

I like the artwork.. would like to see a little more of the user interface, but it's good to see the devs aren't deviating much from the look of DOTA.

Looks interesting. Is that a bear? Wonder why 2 of the 3 people have green names and the other has red? I'm guessing the red one is NPC or a higher level.

I really like the colours of the game but fear it might sway me to buy a new graphics card. I've watched the trailers, the proper trailer didn't really explain anything for me but the gameplay one did. The combat looks purty, and the Barbarian guy with a sword is probably who I would choose from that, simply because of his awesome triple kill shown.

Still pictures aren't as good as videos, so it's hard to see what's going on and what needs to be done. However, I saw teaser videos at PAX, so it looks like an interesting game. Hopefully I wouldn't have to upgrade my machine too much to play it.

It would do me some good to get some LoL time. I've recently been playing Heroes of Newerth and it looks like the obvious pick from the dota clones out there. Still looking forward to trying this game out though, I have high hopes :)

@bob101910 The red name could mean an enemy and the green ones are allies. That could explain what looks like a pet slashing at him. Kinda hard to discern whats going on when enemies and allies bunch up for ganks. It is probably a quick way of telling whos an enemy and whos a friendly.

I'm impressed with the visual quality of some of these free-to-play online games. I never played DOTA, but I must say, the hype is starting to get me excited.

I played it and must say the game is quite fun but...
Heroes of Newerth is much better in my opinion - more advanced, complex and fun game with brilliant game/lobby mechanics :).
(don't count me for LoL key i already have few)

I played in the fileplanet beta weekend, it was pretty fun, favorite one by far is karthus.

I watched a couple of videos on the game on gamespy, and I must say, it does look like a lot fun. The user interface looks interesting compared to what I'm used to, and over all game play looks fun, and somewhat complex. The colours, oh the colours... I love it. I'd really love to give this game a try :)

Loads of my mates are playing this and say its fantastic! A marked improvement over DOTA, they keep pestering me to try and get into it, which I will as soon as I get a release/beta key. Until then ill just have to keep watching the videos and gorging myself over screenshots.

at first i thouoht that this was wow. i think that it could become a game with many people play if it has some good new ideas and much of wow's flear

DOTA is the greatest MMORPG created by Blizzard. So, LOL must be awesome.

@mrhulk DOTA isn't an MMO and it wasn't created by Blizzard ;)

It's more of a roleplaying/real-time strategy game, and it was an add-on made by some folks for Warcraft.

Seriously though, I've seen the teasers to this game, you know for some odd reason it just cries out a WoW vibe. That's a good thing in my opinion. I think this is actually one of the few onlines I give a try to.

Great looking.Demigod was also trying to replicate dota but it was buggy as hell, this shows more promise.

Has that Fable 2 meets Kameo ish look to it. { I know LOL is not an XBOX game, but that is the first thing that came to mind when I looked at the picture }

I loved Dota, and I really can't wait for this game to come out, it totally looks awesome, I can't wait to play it with all my lan friends, should lead to a ton of awesome nights, and coffee filled mornings xD

hmmm the grahpics are refreshing and the colours a nice.

Maybe the MMO addict within me wants to try it out *shrugs* lets see what fate says abotu that beta key

the graphics looks really nice and colourful and there are alot of unique creatures/charactors in the game. the textures in the wood at the top are VERY well rendered and so is the grassy area to the top right.

I happened to play during the Beta Preview Weekend and I've got to say it really surprised me how good it was. It felt sort of "Warcrafty" and played with a fairly good bit of balance.

@abhishekmohan I think they may end up doing just that, since the company that makes this game (Riot) just received a bunch of money from an Asian game-related company. My guess is they plan to bring it over there in some way :)

Spent the day yesterday going over their website and absorbing all that I could. Sounds interesting. Sounds like they basically took DotA, removed the Strategy game elements and made it all about the "Heroes." So... Take WC3 Heroes, mix with a bit of Diablo and original designs.

Would like to play it a bit before dropping any cash on it; but it has promise. Looks like skills are fairly well balanced for the most part as well too.
