ChangeAgent's post tonight made me jealous, so I wanted to start a similar question here.

What games are you excited about that are coming out this year? The announcements are just starting and they will be ramping up as we get through E3 in a month, but there are already some pretty awesome games on the horizon. What are some of your favorites?

Some of my favorites that I'm most excited about right now:

1. Beatles: Rock Band - This game should be more than awesome..it should be amazing :P I'm a huge fan of all the Harmonix music games (specifically the Band games) and I can't wait to rock out Beatles style. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this game at E3!

2. Modern Warfare 2 - This is the follow up to Call of Duty 4, a game that was one of the best FPS's that has come out in a long time. Great multiplayer, fantastic storyline/singleplayer. Infinity Ward won't let us down with this one.

3. Battlefield 1943 - This game sounds pretty fun, a revamped version of Battlefield 1942 and it's only ~$20 or so. Should be well worth it.

Some other games: Bioshock 2, Singularity, DJ Hero... as well as some others I'm sure I'm missing :P

So, what are you looking forward to?

I'm really looking forward to two different comic book moves: Batman: Arkham Asylum which I had a chance to try the demo and came away very impressed. The second is the XMen Origins Wolverine game that will drop the same day as the movie. I'm hoping that Raven got the "feel" of what it should feel like being the most badass hero in the Marvel Universe. So far, the video evidence is compelling, but I will wait until I get my hands on the demo before I decide if it warrants a purchase.
Also looking forward to Bioshock 2, Uncharted 2 (Although I really want Naughty Dog to finish the story of the Jak & Daxter) Prototype, Singularity, and others.
On the handheld side of things, there's a new Mario & Luigi game coming, two different Kingdom Hearts games, a new DS Zelda game. There are probably dozens I've missed, but I'm certain others will fill in the gaps.
Until it got set back to next year, Aliens: Colonial Marines.

After last year, I'm kind of reserved this year about the games on offer. That said, the little shameless fanboy in me is looking forward to Ghostbusters. Terminator: Salvation is due out over a week before my birthday, and after seeing the gameplay vids, I think I'll be dropping hints from now till then.

Max Payne 3 If it doesn't get set back, just to catch up with the old homicidal nut-job. Batman: Arkham Asylum, maybe... I hear a lot of good buzz about it, but I want to see what's in it first.

The big one thought is Jumpgate Evolution with MA. We're all old Wing Commander players, so as you can imagine, they've offered us the video game equivalent of Crack-Cocaine. If it doesn't slip to next year, then you call be

After that, there's really only the Fallout 3 Expansion packs for the pc (Operation Anchorage & The Pitt in one expansion). That's pretty much it for now.
I got a chance to try out the combat in Batman and I have to say that it has some of the most seamless combat I've ever played. The graphics were great and filled with little details. Plus, all of the voice-acting is being done by the same cast as the incredible late 90's animated show.
All i got in my intrest at the moment are the Fallout 3 expansions nothing else has caught my eye yet.
Dragon Age: Origins and Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis in the rpg department. CrimeCraft in the Massive department.
Legitimately Excited:
Jumpgate Evolution
Red Faction: Guerilla (PC)
Ghostbusters (PC) to relive my youth
Hearts of Iron III

Merely Interested:
Battlestations Pacific
Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships
Mount & Blade: Warband
Bioshock 2

Recused:
Dragon Age: Origins (from my coworkers)
Modern Warfare 2
Bioshock 2
Overlord 2
The only non-sequel is Bayonetta
and perhaps Brutal Legend (if it can stick to its hype, but what ever does?)
... would say Final Fantasy XIII but we won't see that until '010.

Its odd that this list isn't huge... but it seems like a pretty weak year.

Oh and all 360 of course, I've paid no attention to whats coming out on any other.... wow... Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 if they show up this year... almost forgot... ok list is PC and 360 =P but I've not paid attention to stuff on other consoles coming this year.
The new Red Faction game, Diablo 3 and GW2 even though I know they won't happen this year (GW2 may be on my list for years to come!) If Huxley comes out I'd be happy.
Guild Wars 2
Star Wars: Old Republic

I'm mildly interested in DC Universe Online, and Jumpgate, AION.

I'm currently playing Warhammer Online, but the leveling is boring, the gear acquisition process is a total grind (random token drops or pve dungeons with lockouts) so if anything remotely entertaining got released in the near future I'd drop it like a rock.
Unfortunately, the one that I'm the most excited about doesn't have a date set to it, yet: Diablo III. I guess it could come out this year. Maybe. Who knows?
I am excited for announcements at E3.

PC: Dragon Age, Some MMO's Dropping, and see what Challenge Games makes for the Web.

Xbox 360: MTG, Halo 3:ODST, Moder Warfare 2, lots of arcade games.

DS: Puzzle Kingdoms
I'm eagerly anticipating D3 as well. D2 was one of my favorite games of all time.
Fight Night Round 4, Final Fantasy XIII (if its this year still), Champions Online
Bioshock 2. Three games out at a time on gamefly, and they're all just holding me over until this one drops.
I am looking forward to Modern Warfare 2 and Xmen Origins: Wolverine. Other than that, the rest of the year is looking weak.
Not a game, but I am looking forward to OnLive.
Well I'm super excited for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, which will be out in about 4 days on XBLA.

Otherwise The Saboteur seems like a really exciting title. I love the overall look of that game. It also seems like a good stealth action title. I just hope they get the "stealth" part right. Otherwise I can't help but to draw parallels with this and Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds in the look and feel of the game.

I'm also looking at Red Faction: Guerilla, Dante's Inferno, Dirt 2, and I want to see if Bioshock 2 is going to be absolute fail or just "meh."
Neither. Mark my words, it'll be better than the first one.
Top 3

1) Brutal Legend
I have been waiting for this since LAST year and have been a long time fan of Mr. Schafer since Grim Fandango.

2) LEGO Rock Band
Just because it will have Blur Song 2 on it and it is silly enough to be incredibly successful.

3) Rock Band: Beatles
My feeling is the songs are much more challenging than they are leading on.

Also looking forward to Guild Wars 2, Diablo III, and any Midnight Club DLC.
@dagamdagee Ooh I forgot about Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, yes that is also one of my most anticipated games. Although I can never relive the glory days of playing that in the arcade on my lunch break.
I totally forgot about Diablo 3 AND Starcraft 2.

I remember Blizzard said that D3 will come out after Starcraft 2's first game..so I'm guessing D3 will be in 2010 (unfortunately), but Diablo 3 looks awesome and was pretty fun when I got to play the Sorceror class at Blizzcon last year.

I agree with @Revlazaro about OnLive, that system is something I'm very interested in and I'm sure it will shake some things up when it launches later this year.
In no particular order here are some of mine:
Infamous, Batman Arkham Asylum, Prototype, Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2 (hopefully out this year), and Red Faction.
Modern Warfare 2, O.D.S.T., the new Batman game looks like it could be cool, BIOSHOCK 2 FTW!! and FF XIII if this year.
Wow..can't believe I forgot about Batman Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed 2. Batman especially looks super cool :)
Not everyone liked Assassin's Creed, but I liked it enough to be looking forward to AC2... also looking forward to FUEL, as I loved GRID...
Completely spaced on AC2 as well (even though its on the current cover of Game Informer... BAD CORMYRE!), will be up for that one... crap collection achievements or not... I need to palm blade more people in the face!
Dragon Age: Origins has got me all giddy, Aion: The Tower of Eternity is my MMO of the year.
On the Wii I'm really looking forward to Muramasa, I loved Odin Sphere and this game looks amazing as well. On the 360, wow, lets see: Batman Arkham Asylum, Prototype, Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Infamous, Bad Company 2, and Bioshock 2 is a must-buy.
Currently I am playing WoW ... ALOT.. obviously Modern Warfare 2 has to be tried when it's released, though i'm wondering how different/(better) they can make it to MW.
I'm looking forward to the new Ghostbusters game, Halo: ODST, I Am Alive, Assassin's Creed 2...but most of all The Beatles: Rock Band.
Actually excited about a lot of games this year, which is weird for me.

Infamous
Arkham Asylum
Free Realms
BioShock 2
Champions
Dragon Age
Jumpgate Evolution
The only thing that's coming this year that remotely interests me is Gran Turismo. I can't believe anyone actually bothered grinding their way to the end of Bioshock, and I don't understand paying to play more of it. I can understand the appeal of Rock Band, and the corresponding desire to pay for the Beatle's greatest hits yet again, but when that's your most anticipated game for the year you know it's gonna be a sad year.
My list :

Dragon Age : Origins (PS3/360)
Alpha Protocol (PS3 / 360)
The Witcher (PS3/360)
Uncharted 2 (PS3)
Mass Effect 2 (360)
Infamous (PS3)

and Tales of Vesperia which hasn't been released here in Europe (normally in June).
Starcraft 2
Star Trek Online (hopefully at least the beta this year?)

Otherwise, nothing really interests me this year..

Batman: Arkham Asylum, Terminator Salvation, and whatever "Tales of" games coming out this year.
Hmm, I'm not really sure what's coming out. Is there a decently formatted, easy-to-read comprehensive list of 2009 releases somewhere?
Alpha Protocol
BioShock 2
Dragon Age
Arkham Asylum
Dragon sky, well kinda...:P And AION, Afro Samurai looks pretty cool too and NBA street online looks hott *dunk*

Didn't bother with untranslated AION, playing the "raw" is like watching bad pirates. No offense to jonny depp xD
My most anticipated game of 2009 is DRAGON AGE from Bioware. Every RPG Bioware has released has been a pure gold smash hit, and Dragon Age will be no exception. And the recent news of the inclusion of a world building tool-set only sweetens the pot with the potential for loads of user made content...
I'm not putting too much time into looking forward to any of the upcoming MMOs, having been so disastrously disapointed in the last couple of years.

That said, Champions Online looks kind of fun, and Jumpgate Evolution will give me an excuse to dig the fancy joystick I bought for Jump to Lightspeed out of my closet. Hope it still works!
Jiminy-Christmas... there are so many titles to look forward to! I think having another 1000gs from CoD6 will be nice, Bioshock to the 2 is going to be badass, but I am very excited for MAG on PS3...
I'm looking forward to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, if it releases this year Assassin's Creed 2, God of War 3 something I've been really anticipating since I first heard about this one, Red Faction: Guerrilla and Half Life EP 3
definitely awesome: Modern Warfare 2, Diablo 3, Borderlands, BrĂ¼tal Legend, Assassin's Creed 2, Bioshock 2

possibly awesome: FUEL, Backbreaker, Fight Night: Round 4, The Saboteur, Prototype, The Agency, Bloodbowl

And there are plenty of other good ones on the way this year. This year will be as good or better than last year in terms of games.
Dark Void - the game play for this game on youtube is great.
Still Life 2. And I really hope they do get the Indy 500 game released this summer. I preordered it last year, or something.
i'm waiting 4
DiRT 2
Bioshock 2
Modern Warfare 2, and Starcraft II, but i don't think it'll be this year.
Champions Online and Mortal Online are the games on top of my list. I'm also looking forward to Dragon Age: Origins.
Borderlands
Red Faction Guerrilla
Alan Wake
MAG
Infamous
Uncharted 2

90% of the games coming out of E3 :)
I'm really looking forward to the Fable II !PC! release. *wheeps silently*
Sacred 2 [360 Version], Knights in the Nightmare [DS], Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, Bad Company 2 [If it comes out this year].
Left 4 Death (pc) really assome
Offcourse Counterstrike:Source and Condition Zero (pc)

prototype looks like a assome game if you see the trailer!!!!
The Conduit (Wii)

StarCraft 2 (PC)

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Wii)

The Sims 3 (PC)

Cod: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox360)

Those are on my 'must buy no matter what' list. :)

Rock Band Beatles
Red Faction Guerrilla (must have!)
maybe Dead Rising 2...
definitely Mass Effect 2!
and...Hannah Montana? Naaahh...just joking...
I hope this game will be out this year!
