This past Sunday I decided to procrastinate on some work (oops!) and thought I'd load up some Left4Dead so I could have some quick fun in Versus Mode.
Now..just to get things out of the way..I'm pretty good at FPS games. I'm not OMG AWESOME, but I'm good and usually better than most in the game (Unless you're talking Counterstrike..which I suck at).
That being said, this game I was completely sucking. It didn't help that my internet connection was wonky and I loaded in to the game super late, so by the time I loaded in my team had already left me alone in the Safe Room so the hunter could come and kill me.
I was immediately bombarded with claims of how much I sucked and how "Q is such a noob LOL".
Frustration levels were raising.
It just kept going like this. My team was made of up people that like to speed run levels, which basically means they don't play the game as designed, they just run non stop and complete the level as fast as possible. This left folks like me who like to find all the bombs and guns alone quite a few times...ripe for the picking when Infected are roaming around.
To make a longer story short...it was pretty humiliating and I definitely felt like a lot of people I've played with in the past. Playing online can be pretty brutal..and playing Left4Dead Versus Mode can be especially brutal when voice chat is enabled and your team mates love put downs :(
It's all good though. I'll have my revenge! This just gives me an excuse to "practice" more Left4Dead :)

I personally don't think it's wrong to speed run levels. However, you must make sure that you don't leave teammates behind! Any strategy is wrong that leaves teammates behind in L4D.
