Started and finished The Beatles Rock Band campaign last night, meaning I unlocked and played through all the songs.
In summary I really like this game. Beatles Rock Band is a great way to connect with another generation of music listeners, and a magical way to be introduced to an era and band that changed the world forever.
I think to truly appreciate the game you may need to come into it with an open mind, and a willingness to learn more about The Beatles. For me, I know about the Beatles somewhat... but that's mostly a consequence of hearing the band so much when I was a kid. Both of my parents were HUGE Beatles fans, and lived through the era and remember it all. Because of this family history with the band, the game is a great way for me to connect in a whole new way with my parents and the music that they love.
With Beatles Rock Band, I'm able to be take a journey through The Beatles career, by playing through each "chapter" of the game. Each chapter is typically a selection of years and albums, and includes a set of about 5 songs. After every song you play you can be rewarded with historical pictures (some never before seen), which are given when you score 3 and/or 5 stars on a song. Each picture includes some details about what was going on in the picture, that song, or The Beatles career at that particular moment in time.
For unlocking certain numbers of pictures, you are also rewarded with Videos. These videos can be outtakes from documentaries, or even audio/video of The Beatles first Christmas album. All of this is historical and includes and additional glimpse into who these guys were and what they did to the world.
After the completion of a chapter you get to watch a brief video/montage that introduces you to the next chapter/era. I thought this was a nice way to conclude and start a chapter, since it has some great visuals done in a way that Harmonix has never done before.
The Beatles: Rock Band is a great game for me not because of the game play or even the music, it is because of what the game has allowed me to do. I've never quite been able to connect with my parents in this way about a band they're so passionate about. In my family The Beatles are a hugely important band, and I'm happy that I get to understand a bit more why that is, and appreciate the band for what they have done to change the world of music.
I hope to write more about the game later, but I hope you enjoyed this write up and found it helpful in some way :)

I'm also using it to provide my 6-year-old son, who is passionate about music himself, an important historical perspective on the band that inspired many of the artists he loves (They Might Be Giants, Green Day, Foo Fighters).
TB:RB was also a must-buy for me because of the family connection as well. I *cannot* wait to bring this out at Christmas and watch the family bond in a whole new way (they've already been warming up to and really enjoying Harmonix games since Guitar Hero)
Awesome game =]
